Coastal Bungalow Remodel, Portsmouth, NH

This three-season cottage built in 1930 on the bank of the Piscataqua River in Newington, New Hampshire, needed a whole house remodel. The goal of the interior design was to give the home a coastal bungalow feel by adding custom design elements and brighter colors, ultimately creating a river and oceanside place to relax.

This riverside bungalow has an open-concept kitchen and a formal keeping room with a fireplace. It is filled with vintage and antique discoveries placed throughout the home.

The upper-level family room is accessible by an open staircase. The family room has new furnishings, vintage furniture, design elements, and stunning water views.

The master bedroom suite has a walkthrough closet, dressing area, and a master bath with a soaking tub and a gas log stove. The master bath vanity has a hand-hammered stainless sink and Imperial Danby marble countertop. The walls are painted in my own color, Hydrangea White by Debbe Daley.

A seating area was created in front of the gas fireplace on snowy winter days. The two beaded chandeliers come from Currey and Company. This coastal bungalow design combines new furnishings, vintage salvage, and antiques that create a warm, elegant home.
